Our Commercial Renovation Projects

LivWell – Integrated Health operates out of what used to be the old Sears building in downtown Squamish. By working closely with the client, our design team was able to determine how to meet their essential list of needs while also making the best use of the space.

This commercial renovation project called for the transformation of a garage, a two-bedroom rental suite, and an existing main house into a comfortable and inviting Montessori School for young children. While working to meet a strict deadline, we gutted each structure down to the studs to achieve our client’s vision in time for the next school year.

Commercial Renovation Client Testimonials

”Mike and the Blue Water Concepts team did a fantastic job on the commercial renovation of our health clinic. We have had numerous compliments from our patients about the space they now come to for treatments, and we couldn’t be happier!

Mike was very genuine in asking what our vision was right from the start, and he was both optimistic and realistic about how to reach our goal. We had an old building to revitalize, and he problem solved our environmental assessment needs right from the start. His team member Kayla was superb in taking our sketches and creating our overall design/layout, Mike researched the best mechanical solutions for our ventilation/thermal comfort, (which was at the heart of the project), and Paul advised us on materials and provided a budget that we could work with. Any concerns we had were prioritized and dealt with in the most efficient and professional manner, and Mike and our Project Manager, Jason were responsive to all communication. We were impressed with the various trades that Mike and Jason employed for the build and have referred others to their services as well.

We would like to thank Mike and his team at Blue Water Concepts for taking on this project and turning out exactly what we had imagined: a workplace that is light, bright, airy, and clean.”

Commercial Renovation FAQs

Can you renovate a commercial lease?

  • Yes, it is possible to renovate a commercial lease space, but it must be done with the approval of the landlord. Some lease agreements may already include provisions for renovations, so it’s important to review the terms of your lease before making any plans. If you anticipate wanting to invest in commercial renovations, consider discussing your plans with your landlord during lease negotiations.

How long do commercial renovations take?

  • The time it takes to renovate your commercial space depends on the size of the project and the complexity of the work that needs to be done, as well as other factors such as weather, permitting timelines, and the availability of materials. When you factor in the time required for design, permitting, bidding, and construction, the average commercial renovation project can take anywhere from 6 to 12 months.
