Take a look at our process
Tough access? No problem.
Our Gambier Island remote-access Back Country Hut Company (BHC) build was started and completed in early 2022. With very challenging access to the site, everything had to be barged in from Horseshoe Bay and then air-lifted by helicopter into place. With no power access on the site, our team had to use a mix of solar panels and generators in order to keep power tools working.
The BHC System.
This BHC “System 02” cabin was built as a weekend retreat for our client. Perched on top of a dramatic cliff overlooking Howe Sound, the stark Scandinavian-style cabin blends seamlessly into the forest that surrounds it. Backcountry Hut Company, which produces these cabins, has an ethos to create compact modernist recreational structures designed and built to stand up to the most rigorous standards and leave a minimal impact on the surroundings. The buildings come in a panelized package and go up quite quickly. The level of coordination and organization our team displayed on this project is really what made it the huge success it was. We are looking forward to building two more cabins from BHC in 2023.
