Our Hardy Island Custom Home family retreat project was a special project for both our team and our client. This was a family legacy project, a series of incredibly high quality but small foot print buildings on a remote off grid lot built on a boat access only island that could be enjoyed with friends and family and eventually left to his kids to enjoy with their kids.
Our design team was given a blank slate with a lot with one existing small cabin and roughly 5 acres to work with. We did the master planning for how the lot would connect and flow between the various buildings, main dock and sports court.
Our team lived on the island for a number of months before moving to staff housing nearby. We compressed this very large project into just over 12 months of build time and 16 months total with pre-construction (design, permitting) included. This one was a special one!
