We’re excited to showcase our latest commercial construction tenant improvement project for Peak’s Pets, a locally-owned pet supply store in Squamish. This project was a fascinating challenge that involved combining two separate units into a cohesive space, removing a steel staircase, and customizing the unit including two pet wash stations to meet our client’s specific needs.
Many people assume that working with commercial space in a brand new building is a “plug-and-play” situation, but in reality, it’s much more complex. There are hidden intricacies and unexpected challenges that require careful planning and execution. Our team tackled these complexities head-on, ensuring a seamless integration of the two units and an efficient refitting process.
We are proud to say that we delivered this project on time and came in under budget. The result is a beautifully designed and highly functional space that perfectly fits Peak’s Pets’ requirements.

We partnered with Blue Water Concepts in building out our new Pet Shop location. We began with just a concrete warehouse and a vision. The team at Blue Water was incredible. Mike and his team (Aaron, Erin and Luke) helped bring our dream into reality. We knew how to run our business and what would make our new location amazing, but are not designers or general contractors. We were relieved to let Blue Water take control of the design and construction.
The Design team and pre-construction team were professional and respectful or our timeline and budget constraints and they were so much fun to work with. They took our ideas even when we weren’t sure what we wanted and they gave us options and often improved our original ideas. Blue Water knows everything about building codes and their experience helped us save on budget and avoid delays – this expertise is invaluable. We even learned a few things from them.
Luke was our project manager and he was always communicating timeline and letting us know what was going on with the project so we were free to do all the other things related to a new opening. He really took the time and care to make sure the project was perfect for us and our customers.
Blue Water hires the most amazing people and makes sure to work with great tradesmen that stand behind their work. In the end we got our dream pet shop with customized pet baths. It was finished On TIME, and UNDER BUDGET and we made invaluable connections.
