Commercial Construction: LivWell Clinic

Date: July 2020

Location: Squamish

For this commercial construction project, the owners of LivWell – Integrated Health first approached Blue Water Concepts in 2019 to design and build their new clinic. Their space is now in what used to be the old Sears building in downtown Squamish. When working through the design details, we helped the client envision how we’d transform the space from the empty, cold building that it was and turn it into the warm and inviting wellness clinic that they had envisioned. Our design team was able to come up with a plan for the space that addressed their wish list and utilized the space most efficiently.

When it came to this wellness space, the LivWell team had specific requests and requirements regarding:

  • Ventilation
  • Climate control in the rooms
  • Natural light throughout
  • Sound attenuation between rooms and from adjacent units
  • Overall efficiency of the mechanical systems

We were able to work within their budget while ensuring none of these important details were missed. The finished product is a very comfortable, bright, and inviting wellness clinic in downtown Squamish that our team and clients can be proud of.

“Mike and the Blue Water Concepts team did a fantastic job on the commercial build-out of our health clinic. We have had numerous compliments from our patients about the space they now come to for treatments, and we couldn’t be happier! We had met with two other contractors before Mike. They were professional and had similar budgets and fundamentals to advise us on, but Mike was very genuine in asking what our vision was right from the start, and he was both optimistic and realistic about how to reach our goal. We had an old building to revitalize, and they problem solved our environmental assessment needs right from the start. His team member, Kayla, was superb in taking our sketches and creating our overall design/layout, Mike researched the best mechanical solutions for our ventilation/thermal comfort, (which was at the heart of the project), and Paul advised us on materials and provided a budget that we could work with. Any concerns we had were prioritized and dealt with in the most efficient and professional manner, and Mike and our Project Manager Jason were responsive to all communication. We were impressed with the various trades that Mike and Jason employed for the build and have referred others to their services as well. We would like to thank Mike and his team at Blue Water Concepts for taking on this project and turning out exactly what we had imagined, a workplace that is light, bright, airy, and clean.”
