Description

• Attend daily meetings with the Lead Hand and Project Manager to gain full understanding of projects and their daily and weekly goals. • Come to daily meetings prepared and engaged to set and discuss daily goals. • Help to ensure tools and materials are prepared in advance to enable projects to be produced in the most efficient manner possible. • Work in a pre-planned and efficient manner to ensure all tasks are being completed within the allotted time frame. • Double check all work you produce to proactively prevent deficiencies. • Immediately address deficiencies to prevent production delays. • Ensure all necessary materials and tool rentals are requested daily to prevent delays to the production schedule. • Maintain regular contact with the Project Manager to ensure that all project progress is on track. • Engage in proper tool maintenance and report any damages, misuse or lost/stolen tools are reported to Site Foreman and/or Project Manager.

Requirements

• Valid BC Drivers Licence • Valid First Aid Certificate is an asset • 2+ years experience in a similar role • Available Monday to Friday from 8 to 4

Lead Carpenter

Description

1. Lead Carpenters problem solve on an ongoing basis. No two projects are the same, however, Lead Carpenters are expected to use past experience and current building standards to achieve a high-quality final product. 2. Lead Carpenters will be oriented with new projects by reviewing budget and schedule targets with our Lead Estimator and Project Manager. 3. Lead Carpenters are expected to attend a weekly Goal Setting and Review Meeting (GSR) to set weekly goals, review daily logs, bring up current issues and problem solve with the Project Manager. 4. Lead Carpenters are hired with the understanding that they have skills and experience to complete all carpentry related aspects of a given project from foundation to finish. 5. Come to site prepared and engaged to set and discuss daily goals to maximize efficiency and lead other team members. 6. Ensure tools and materials are ordered and readied in advance to enable projects to advance in the most efficient manner possible. 7. Work in a pre-determined and timely manner to ensure all team members are completing tasks within the allotted time frame. 8. Double check all work completed by your team to proactively prevent deficiencies. 9. Immediately address deficiencies to prevent production delays and report any issues to the Site Foreman and/or Project Manager. 10. Oversee and ensure all materials and tools are properly used, maintained, and stored to prevent unnecessary waste and damage. 11. Maintain regular daily communication and contact with the Site Foreman and/or Project Manager to ensure that all project progress is on track. 12. Actively lead by example to ensure team members are following Blue Water Company safety policies and that worksite behavior is representational of company values and image. 13. Ensure that job sites are left in a clean and organized manner on a daily basis.

Requirements

• Red Seal Carpenter • Ability to manage a team of 2 to 6 while also working on the tools • 5+ years experience as a Lead Carpenter in a similar role with Site Foreman experience • 5+ years in Residential Construction - Foundations to Finishing • Valid BC Class 5 Drivers Licence and vehicle • Available Monday to Friday from 8 to 4

Project Manager

Attend daily meetings with the Lead Hand to gain full communicate amongst the team the understanding of projects and their daily and weekly goals.Bi-weekly goals (potentially Mondays) are to be determined by the Project Manager. These goals are to be communicated and delegated at the Project Managers discretion amongst the teams. 2. A bi-weekly review of the above goals is also to be completed. Review of successes and areas of improvement is mandatory to eliminate errors in future management. 3. Prepare and maintain a master construction schedule for the projects being managed. This schedule is to be communicated to all team members as needed. 4. Help to ensure tools and materials are prepared in advance to enable projects to be produced in the most efficient manner possible. 5. Follow up and trouble shoot any existing issues related to each project. Team conflict, client concerns, supplier, or vendor discrepancies. Work should be double checked and reviewed for deficiencies. 6. Prepare and track all change orders related to each project. Approval, communication, and organization of each change order is the responsibility of the Project Manager. 7. Manage and maintain client budgets on a bi-weekly basis. Ensure to include estimated project costs, actual project costs and new totals if change orders are added. Budgets will be updated bi-weekly and sent to Admin staff to be passed along to clients during bi-weekly invoicing. 8. Ensure all necessary materials and tool rentals are requested daily to prevent delays to the production schedule. 9. Maintain regular contact with the appropriate staff members to ensure that all project progress is on track. 10. Bi-weekly subcontractor invoices are to be reviewed and approved for office staff to invoice by end of day Tuesdays. Should there be any invoicing discrepancies, the Project Manager will rectify these in a timely manner to be included on the following invoice.

Requirements

Proven working experience in project management • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office • Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent • Knowledge of BC building code • Willing to work on large renovations, new builds and additions • Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License with vehicle • Available Monday to Friday from 8 to 4 • Experience with CoConstruct or similar software • Work under pressure and timelines
